The 22nd graduation ceremony of the Eswatini College of Technology (ECOT) was marked by words of encouragement and celebration as 307 graduates were honoured for their academic achievements.

The event, held in the presence of students, educators, and industry representatives, featured a keynote address by the Minister of Education and Training, Owen Nxumalo, who highlighted the importance of collaboration in education and the role of graduates in shaping the future.

During his address, Nxumalo expressed his gratitude to industry partners who have contributed to enhancing the quality of education at ECOT.

“As a Ministry, we would also like to take a moment to thank the industry partners who have joined hands with Eswatini College of Technology to improve the standard of education.

Nxumalo further emphasized the significance of the day, describing it as a special moment not only for the graduates but also for all stakeholders involved in their academic journey.

“Today we are celebrating a truly special ceremony—not only to commemorate your academic achievement but also to mark the step that you have all taken toward this momentous occasion—the 22nd Graduation of the Eswatini College of Technology.

Graduates, this is your day. It marks the culmination of years of dedication, hard work, and determination,” he added.

He acknowledged the role played by the ECOT faculty and staff in molding the students, as well as the invaluable support provided by parents and friends.

“You didn’t get here alone; I would also like to take the time to appreciate the ECOT staff for their unrelenting work in molding you, and all the parents and friends for the support they gave you along the way.

The encouragement and confidence they bestowed upon you really played a key role behind your success,” the Minister said.

The Minister encouraged the graduates to pursue their careers and end up being employers.

In addressing the future path of the graduates, Nxumalo urged them to look beyond mere employment and embrace the opportunity to shape their own journeys.

“As you move forward, remember that this is not just about finding your place in the workforce. This is about something greater.

It is about looking to your future with boldness and becoming creators, not just seekers of opportunity,” the Minister asserted.

“As you leave ECOT, we encourage you to think about how you can shape your own path and, in doing so, shape the world around you.”

The minister also looked on the programs offered by ECOT, which are designed to prepare students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

“The programs here at ECOT are designed to equip you with the skills necessary to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of technology and innovation.

This world is changing rapidly, and it is your creativity and knowledge that will help you navigate these changes.

The diploma you are receiving today is more than just a piece of paper; it is the key to endless possibilities,” he noted.

Nxumalo extended gratitude to the companies that have recognized and rewarded top achievers, acknowledging their role in inspiring excellence among students.

“We also extend our gratitude to the companies that have stepped forward to recognize and reward the best achievers.

Your commitment to celebrating excellence motivates our graduates to push their boundaries and strive for greatness.

These awards are not just accolades; they are symbols of what hard work and dedication can achieve,” he stated.

He also acknowledged the contributions of the Taiwan Technical Mission, whose partnership with ECOT has played a crucial role in enhancing the institution’s learning environment.

“We must thank the Taiwan Technical Mission for their unwavering support and contributions to the development of this institution.

They provided ECOT with state-of-the-art equipment that positively impacts skills development. Your collaboration with ECOT has enriched the learning environment, providing students with opportunities that foster innovation and excellence. We are grateful for your continued partnership,” Nxumalo added.

Addressing the graduates directly, the minister stressed the importance of making a positive impact in society, regardless of the career paths they choose.

“Success isn’t just about the jobs you get or the titles you earn. It’s about the impact you make on society.

It’s about how you contribute to your community, your country, and the world. Wherever your journey takes you, whether it’s starting your own business, continuing your studies, or joining the workforce—do it with a sense of purpose and a drive to make a positive difference,” he advised.

As a final message to the graduates, Nxumalo reminded them that learning is a lifelong process. “As you step into this new chapter of life, I want to remind you that your education doesn’t end here.

Learning is a lifelong process, and the knowledge you’ve gained will continue to grow and evolve with you,” he said.

The ceremony concluded with heartfelt congratulations to the graduates for their hard work and achievements.

“Congratulations once again to all of you. We’re excited to see what you’ll accomplish, and we wish you every success in the future.

You’ve made us all very proud today, and we know you’ll continue to make us proud in whatever you do next,” Nxumalo concluded.
