The Taiwan Embassy in Eswatini has donated a vehicle to be used by the Protocol Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The vehicle worth E646,000 was received by Minister Pholile Shakantu on Wednesday afternoon at the Ministry’s premises who extended appreciation to the embassy for the generous gift.

She further reiterated the country’s commitment to the partnership that has lasted decades with the Republic of China in Taiwan.

“This vehicle will play a very vital role to the Protocol department as it is one of the busiest in the Ministry, in terms of running errands and welcoming delegates from the country’s different points of entry,” she said.

Shakantu said she looked forward to the growing partnership between the embassy and the Ministry.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Jeremy Liang echoed the Minister regarding the relationship between the two countries that have stood shoulder to shoulder through thick and thin.

He further thanked the Ministry for all the help rendered in supporting Taiwan in participating in the international community.

“We cherish the relationship between the countries, but mostly the one that exists between the embassy and the Ministry.

That is why we will always go the extra mile to meet the needs of the ministry to further consolidate the relationship.

We are content that the Ministry and the country will go all nine yards to assist Taiwan in her desire to participate fully in international areas,” he said.

Ambassador Liang emphasised that whenever the Ministry needs assistance in anything, the embassy will be happy to be of service, whilst growing the existing relationship in the process.
