The cat is finally out of the bag.

Former Mbabane Highlanders Managing Director Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane assisted the club during the two recent MTN Premier League Matches against Young Buffaloes and Mbabane Swallows.

Simelane brought two new kits branded Nike and Puma.

The latest Puma kit caught the attention of football lovers during the ‘Black Bull’ 2-0 derby loss to Swallows on Sunday at Mavuso Sports Centre.

Simelane’s young brother and former Highlanders Chief Scout Mandla Simelane affirmed the news on behalf of the former midfield maestro now based in South Africa.

“We were approached by the supporters and touched by the situation the club found itself in. My Brother decided to assist the team as a legend in respect of the Highlanders brand and supporters.

The image of the team and football if Highlanders didn’t honour the two fixtures. My Brother was once taken care of by some of the Highlanders Patrons during his playing days and he felt he should rescue the team,” Simelane said.

Simelane also urged the Highlanders family to iron out their differences.

“We believe that the team can reconcile and continue work towards the betterment of the team, he said.
NSC Chairman Mfanzile Dlamini appreciated Simelane’s support.

“We are humbled by the support of Simelane who our legend for his assistance is together with other supporters,” he said.

Simelane oversaw Highlanders between 2013 and 2017 and helped the crowd pullers regain promotion to the elite league from the National First Division.
