Two men lost their lives in brutal assaults in separate incidents, Madlangemphisi and Zombodze Emuva areas.
The first incident occurred at approximately 1am when a 21-year-old man from Kukhanyeni was discovered lying dead on a path at Madlangemphisi.
Authorities confirmed that the victim sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body, both front and back.
The details surrounding the attack remain unclear, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward as they investigate this heinous crime.

Tragedy struck again at approximately 1:30pm that same day when a 28-year-old man from Maseyisini was brutally assaulted with a pick handle in the Zombodze area.
Witnesses reported hearing screams before the assailant fled the scene. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the victim died from the extensive injuries inflicted during the assault.
In response to these violent incidents, Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, Chief Police Information and Communication Officer, expressed deep concern over the rising crime rates in the region.

“We urge the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local authorities,” Vilakati stated.
In a related development, at around 11am on the same day, Gege Police made significant strides in curbing drug trafficking.
They arrested four individuals two men and two women aged between 29 and 39 years for possession of a substantial amount of illegal dagga weighing 55.4 kg.

The suspects were apprehended while traveling in a Toyota Yaris sedan at Sicunusa and are set to appear before the Nhlangano Magistrate Court.
It should be noted that as the investigation into the murders continues, the community is left grappling with fear and uncertainty, calling for greater police presence and community engagement to combat such violence.
The police encourage anyone with information about either crime to contact them as they work to restore peace and security in the area.
