The Republic of China (Taiwan) continues to show its generosity after donating three top-of-the-range ambulances to His Majesty’s Correctional Services worth a sum of E5 526 000.

This is part of the efforts to enhance the delivery of healthcare services in the country.

The ambulances were officially handed over to HMCS by Taiwan Ambassador Jeremy Liang and were received by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs HRH Prince Simelane and Commissioner General LaMakhosini Phindile Dlamini.

The donation was made at the Correctional Services in Matsapha on Thursday. The three ambulances come with basic life support with a security cage, intermediate life support and security café as well as advanced life support.

services in the country.

The HMCS Commissioner General Phindile Dlamini thanked the Republic of China (Taiwan) for the donation, stating that the ambulances will go a long way in saving lives and improving the quality of life for inmates and officers.

“This means the ambulances can accommodate patients even in the most difficult times. The security features will enhance the safety of both officers and inmates whilst the latter are transported to referral hospitals,” she said.

The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Prince Simelane thanked Taiwan for the donation, describing it as a significant contribution towards improving the Health Care sector within the Correctional Services.
