Prime Minister Russell Dlamini has extended heartfelt congratulations to John Dramani Mahama on his election as President of the Republic of Ghana.
Sharing the message on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III, Her Majesty the Queen Mother, the Government, and the people of Eswatini, Dlamini expressed optimism about Ghana’s continued progress under Mahama’s leadership.
In his statement, Dlamini highlighted the significance of Mahama’s election as a reflection of Ghana’s robust democracy and the trust placed in him by the nation’s citizens.

“The Kingdom of Eswatini is hopeful that, under his leadership, the Republic of Ghana will continue to thrive, advancing peace, stability, and sustainable development,” he remarked.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of deepening the bonds between Eswatini and Ghana, expressing optimism about the mutual benefits such a partnership could bring.
“As we celebrate this significant occasion, we express our hope that the warm relations between Eswatini and Ghana will deepen, bringing mutual benefits to our Peoples,” he stated.
Dlamini concluded by wishing the people of Ghana prosperity and success under Mahama’s leadership, underscoring Eswatini’s support for a stable and progressive future for Ghana.
According to media reports, Ghana’s Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia accepted defeat in Saturday’s election and congratulated the opposition candidate, former President John Mahama, on his victory.

“The people have voted for change,” said Bawumia. The elections come amid the country’s worst economic crisis in a generation, which saw the cost of basic goods shoot up, while young people struggled to get jobs, and the country was unable to repay its debts.
Mahama previously served as President of Ghana from 24 July 2012 to 7 January 2017 and Vice President of Ghana from January 2009 to July 2012.
After the victory, Mahama’s supporters took to the streets around the country to celebrate, cheering, waving flags, blowing horns and spinning motorbikes.
