The country’s dedication to enhancing public service delivery and ensuring a motivated and empowered workforce remains a priority for the Eswatini government.

In a statement highlighting the government’s achievements for 2024, Prime Minister Russell Dlamini emphasized the importance of cultivating a culture of excellence and high performance in the civil service, an effort he described as pivotal to improving the lives of emaSwati.

Dlamini revealed that the government has launched and piloted a Performance Management System aimed at optimizing the productivity and efficiency of the public service.

“This system will be continuously monitored, evaluated, and improved for the optimization of its function and success,” he noted.

The initiative was said to highlight the government’s drive to ensure that public institutions meet the demands of service delivery with professionalism and accountability.

When acknowledging the critical role of the country’s security forces and public servants, the Prime Minister announced a comprehensive salary review exercise that is currently underway.

The Premier shared major achievements done by government.

The contentious Phase II of the review process has been thoroughly interrogated and is expected to be addressed upon the exercise’s completion in 2025.

“The salary review exercise is on course and will be concluded in line with the terms of reference,” Dlamini assured.

The government also highlighted the strides made in strengthening positive relations with Public Sector Associations (PSAs), including the Eswatini Association of Nurses (SNAS),

These relationships, Dlamini said, are instrumental in improving service delivery. “Good employee and employer relations in the public sector are crucial for improved service delivery.

Government is committed to continuously strengthening these relations,” he said. To further demonstrate its appreciation for public servants, the government awarded a 1 per cent once-off sweetener to civil servants.
