She revealed that she spent E1, 050.00 on the purchase and credited the Red Cross for providing her with training on poultry care.
While she had previously raised chickens, a lack of knowledge had led to devastating losses.
The training proved to be a game-changer for Mngometulu, equipping her with the skills to ensure the survival and productivity of her chickens.
“With this stock, I will start my chicken business, and when I have challenges, now I know where to get help. This has been an eye-opening experience.
I am grateful to Baphalali,” she said, beaming with optimism.
Mngometulu also shared that the financial support extended beyond her business plans. After purchasing the chickens and care kits, she had some money left over, which she intends to use for her family’s essential needs, including mealie or maize flour and other food items.
