The Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development Sikhumbuzo Dlamini handed over three income-generating projects worth E3 million at Kukhanyeni Inkhundla under Manzini region.

These projects are funded through the Government’s Regional Development Fund (RDF).

The were hailed as such projects are a significant milestone in the Kingdom of Eswatini’s fight against poverty and commitment to empowering communities.

The projects launched include a tipper truck worth E2.1 million for Zamokuhle Multipurpose Cooperative, a light-duty truck valued at E800,000 for Ithemba Lethu Multipurpose Cooperative, and a package of tents, chairs, and pots costing E77,000 for Thuthuka Mbeka Multipurpose Association.

These initiatives are set to enhance the livelihoods of the beneficiaries by creating opportunities for sustainable income generation while strengthening community development.

During the handover ceremony, Minister Sikhumbuzo emphasized the pivotal role of the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development in facilitating and coordinating development efforts aimed at poverty alleviation.

He highlighted the RDF as a key enabler in empowering groups across the country, providing them with resources and infrastructure to build sustainable livelihoods.

“The projects we are launching today are a testament to the effectiveness of the Regional Development Fund, which was initiated by His Majesty King Mswati III to combat poverty and promote economic stability among emaSwati,” said the minister.

The Minister emphasized the importance of such initiatives in driving transformative opportunities for economic growth.

He urged emaSwati to leverage the financial opportunities available at Tinkhundla Centres, such as the RDF, which are designed to guide communities toward achieving their development goals.

“The accomplishment of these three projects serves as evidence of the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing emaSwati’s participation in economic activities that promote stability and sustainability,” he noted.

Again, Dlamini expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the stakeholders who contributed to the success of these projects.

Traditional leaders, the Regional Development Fund Committee, the Technical Committee, the Community Development Unit, the Micro Projects Unit, and the Inkhundla Council were lauded for their collaborative efforts.

The Minster asserted that their dedication and teamwork ensured the successful realization of projects that are expected to have a lasting impact on the local economy and the well-being of the beneficiaries.
