In a first of its kind, Manzini Wanderers have been excluded from this year’s lucrative Ingwenyama Cup tournament.
This is amid increased prize ls for the champions and runners-up. The champions will take home E1 450 000 instead of Green Mamba’s E1.4 million prize last year when they edged Mbabane Swallows 1-0 in the final.

As the king, through the voice of Prince Bukhosi, made the keynote address, he appealed for a smooth-running tournament, one with respect and honour from clubs to the fans.

“The king is excited about this tournament and happy that it was played without any violent episodes. He expects this edition to be even better and respected in every way to avoid violent scenes during football games and culture competition.

“The king believes the Ingwenyama Cup helps improve our game as one day we’ll also have international stars in outside countries.
We must also respect the sponsor by always passing its road safety message,” said Prince Bukhosi.
