Traders and artists alike are reminded that MTN Bushfire Festival 2025 applications for participation will close on January 31, 2024.
This annual event is gearing up for its 18th edition, scheduled to take place from May 30 to June 1, 2025, at House On Fire.
Simon Dawson, the Communications Officer for MTN Bushfire, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all artists who have submitted their applications thus far.

“A big shout out and thank you to all the artists who applied for the chance to perform at MTN Bushfire 2025,” he stated.
The festival has seen an impressive global response, with applications pouring in from various countries, including San Marino, Jamaica, Colombia, Cameroon, Canada, India, Sweden, and Angola.
Dawson also noted the overwhelming volume of applications received this year, indicating that only successful applicants will be contacted.
The application process for traders and artists required the completion of a detailed form available on the MTN Bushfire website.
This year, the festival is particularly focused on artists whose work not only entertains but also engages with pressing social issues.
MTN Bushfire has consistently embraced a diverse array of musical styles and genres, ensuring a lineup that is deeply rooted in African traditions while appealing to a global audience.

The festival has built a solid reputation for unearthing eclectic and eccentric talents, providing festivalgoers with unique and memorable experiences.
The multidisciplinary program will showcase a wholesome mix of Pan-African and international artists, emphasizing creativity and cultural exchange.
The previous edition of the MTN Bushfire Festival set new records, raising the bar for festival experiences worldwide.
With a total trade revenue of E9,507,606, a remarkable increase from the previous year’s E7,355,729.15, the festival’s marketplace was bustling with 112 traders offering a diverse array of products and crafts to eager festivalgoers.

MTN Bushfire has garnered substantial international acclaim, being named a “Top African festival” by the BBC and recognized by CNN as one of the “7 African music festivals you have to see.”
The festival was also honoured with the Most Responsible Event Award at the WTM African Responsible Tourism Awards in 2017.
