Ck Survivors couldn’t survive Mbabane Swallows’s wrath in the Ingwenyama Cup as they were sent packing in the prestigious knockout competition with a 3-0 defeat at Mavuso Sports Centre on Sunday.

The capital city giants were ruthless against the National First Division side in front of over 2000 fans.

The last season runner had no mercy for the minnows as they drew first blood nine minutes into action through youngster Njongo Mazibuko.

The former Red Rhinos striker outpaced the Survivors’ defence before beating the opposition goalkeeper Njabulo Malinga hands down.

The crowd pullers dominated play with their wave attack towards the Lubombo-based side defence.

Swallows fullback Newman Philiso doubled the scoreline before the half-hour mark with a long-range effort that left Survivors goalkeeper Njabulo Malinga like a newborn kitten.

Newman’s strike handed ‘Umkhonto ka Shaka’ a healthy two-goal cushion heading to the breather.

Swallows continued where they had left off in the first half despite the absence of estranged captain Kwakhe Tfwala.

Swallow’s forwards Njongo Mazibuko and Sandile Hlatswako asked questions about the opposition goalkeeper Njabulo Malinga twice deep into the hour mark.

Newman sealed Swallow’s quarterfinal ticket in the 76th minute from the spot kick.

This was after the midfielder Nhlanhla Ngwenya was fouled by the opposition defender Mbombo Leon inside the box.
