Senator Chief Ngome Ndlangamandla and Senator Chief Zabeni Shiba said that there is an urgent need to combat corruption, highlighting its detrimental effect on the nation’s aspirations for First World Status.
The session, held on Thursday, was prompted by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini’s proposal to select senators to express gratitude to His Majesty for His Speech from the Throne, delivered at the opening of the Second Session of the 12th Parliament.
The senators did not mince words as they addressed the critical issue of corruption, emphasizing that it poses a significant barrier to the country’s development goals.
“Corruption needs to be dealt with speedily and promptly,” declared Senator Ndlangamandla, stressing the imperative for immediate action to restore integrity within the governance structures.

Senator Shiba echoed these sentiments, asserting that “with corruption, the country’s efforts or vision will remain just a dream.”
