The Makoti Festival brand has expanded its horizons, drawing attention from beyond Eswatini’s borders as it welcomes a new international artist to its lineup.
The festival has confirmed the participation of Mozambique’s queen of Afrobeat, the sensational and multi-award-winning Lizha James.
This exciting announcement was made by Makoti Festival Director Thembinkosi Mthethwa.
Last year, the Makoti Festival was launched in Mozambique, further solidifying its mission to promote cultural exchange and collaboration within the Southern African region.

Lizha James, known for her infectious energy and chart-topping hits, is a powerhouse in the music scene.
She seamlessly blends Afro-pop, Marrabenta, and R&B, creating a sound that resonates with audiences and gets everyone on their feet.
Festivalgoers can expect her to bring that magic to the Makoti Festival on April 26, 2025.
This year’s festival promises to be a feast for the senses, celebrating the rich heritage and creativity of Eswatini while providing a vibrant platform for local talent and entrepreneurship.
Tickets for the event are now available, starting at E200, and can be purchased through Howler and Computicket. Notably, the event will also feature South African star, uGatsheni and Young Zesh.
