The community of Siphocosini and the nation are mourning the loss of Sikakadza Matsebula, the former Parliament Speaker and current Indvuna of Siphocosini, who passed away recently.

Chief Prince Jabhane confirmed the news to members of the Inner Council (Bandlancane) on Sunday morning.

Sanele Shongwe, Matsebula’s secretary, in an interview with Eswatini Daily News, said the exact date of the burial will be communicated by the elders soon.

“It’s true that the Indvuna has passed on, but details on the date of his burial are yet to be disclosed,” Shongwe said, expressing the profound sorrow shared by the community.

Residents of Siphocosini have spoken highly of Matsebula’s commitment to serve and his dedication to treating all residents with fairness and equality.

“We are deeply saddened by the death of our Indvuna, who worked closely with Prince Chief Jabhane,” said a local resident who wished to remain anonymous.

“Just yesterday, I was in a community meeting, and he appeared to be fine and healthy.”

Sikakadza Matsebula is fondly remembered for his impactful tenure as the Speaker of the House of Assembly in previous years, where he played a key role in legislative discussions and nation-building.

It should be noted that as plans for his memorial and burial are finalized, the community prepares to honour the life and achievements of a leader who has left an indelible mark on Siphocosini and the nation.
