ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA – The Kingdom of Eswatini has expressed its profound gratitude to African Union (AU) member states for electing the Honourable Moses Vilakati as the AU Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Environment (ARBE).
This landmark achievement marks the first time a candidate from Eswatini has been appointed to a Commissioner position within the African Union.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Kingdom through a statement submitted to the AU yesterday, His Majesty the King acknowledged the confidence shown by member states and the significance of this milestone.

He assured AU leaders that Eswatini will honour the trust placed in them.

The King reiterated the nation’s commitment to working diligently in the ARBE portfolio and contributing meaningfully to the AU’s objectives in these crucial areas,
saying the appointment is seen as a significant step for Eswatini on the continental stage.
