The High Commission of India in Mbabane has announced the availability of one fully funded scholarship for a student from Eswatini under the Quad STEM Scholarship Scheme.

The scholarship will allow the selected student to pursue a four-year bachelor’s degree in engineering for the academic year 2025-26.

The entire process, from application to admission, will be conducted online, ensuring accessibility for all interested candidates.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has shared this opportunity, emphasizing the importance of higher education in STEM fields for Eswatini’s development.

According to the announcement, the application portal opened on February 20, 2025, allowing students to submit their applications online.

The deadline for submissions is set for April 30, 2025, after which universities will review and assess the applications.

By May 31, institutions will inform both the Indian Missions and students of their decisions, whether confirmed or rejected.

The final step requires the selected student to formally accept the scholarship offer by June 22, 2025.

This initiative is part of India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen educational cooperation with Eswatini and enhance opportunities for young professionals in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The scholarship covers undergraduate courses exclusively in STEM disciplines and is open to candidates between the ages of 18 and 40 as of July 1, 2025.

Eligible students must have completed secondary education with a strong academic background in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, which are compulsory subjects for engineering programs.

Marks from Grades 10 to 12, along with transcripts, must be uploaded during the application process.

Additionally, applicants are required to submit a 500-word essay in English to demonstrate proficiency in the language, with the option to provide standardized test scores such as TOEFL or IELTS if available.

Universities may also conduct direct interviews to assess applicants further.

The scholarship provides return economy-class airfare, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the selected student’s ability to study in India.

However, students are advised to carefully research university options and course offerings before applying.

The High Commission has clarified that the final award of the scholarship will only be confirmed once it is satisfied that the student has no pending health issues, has submitted all required documentation accurately, and has no record of fraudulent activity.

This ensures the integrity of the program and promotes goodwill through educational exchange.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has encouraged eligible students to take advantage of this prestigious opportunity.

As applications are submitted online through ICCR’s A2A Scholarship Portal, students are advised not to visit the High Commission in person at this stage.
