Armed robbers steal E200 000 at Al Baik Investments

A shocking armed robbery took place at Al Baik Investments (Emandla Wholesale), located opposite Cash Build, as gunmen made off with a staggering E200,000 on the afternoon of March 15, 2025.

The brazen act has heightened security concerns in the area, prompting the police to urge residents to remain vigilant.

According to the Chief Police Information and Communication Officer, Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the robbery unfolded around midday when a group of armed men stormed into the establishment.

“The suspects entered the store and threatened staff with firearms before making off with a significant amount of cash,” Vilakati reported.

In light of the ongoing investigation, authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in tracking down the culprits.

Police have identified a crucial piece of information: the getaway vehicle is a grey 2014 Toyota Corolla Allion, with the registration number KSD854CH.

“We are asking anyone who may have seen this vehicle or has any information relating to the robbery to come forward,” said Vilakati at a press conference.

“Your cooperation could be crucial in bringing those responsible to justice.”

The incident has left employees and customers at the wholesale store shaken, with many expressing their fears regarding safety in the area.

The REPS is increasing patrols in the vicinity to deter similar incidents and ensure community safety.
