His Majesty King Mswati III has commended the impressive progress made at the Hlane Hotel, a key project currently under development by Inyatsi Group Holdings and spearheaded by Construction Associates.
Located in the heart of Hlane, this venture is one of several significant projects the King visited during a tour of the area on Wednesday,
which also included stops at the Hlane Reptile Park and the state-of-the-art stadium and dance arena being constructed for the annual Buganu Ceremony.
Upon his arrival at the site, the King took a comprehensive tour of the ongoing construction, which is set to be completed in March 2026.
Michelo Shakantu, the Chairman of the Inyatsi Group, who is overseeing the project, confirmed that the development is on track to be finished by its projected date, with a total cost thus far exceeding E60 million.

The hotel, which broke ground on April 1, 2022, currently employs 50 people in the construction phase, with plans to hire more staff as operations move forward. Once complete, the facility will offer 42 rooms, including five executive suites, 14 double-bed units, and 15 single-bed rooms.
In his address, His Majesty emphasized the importance of ensuring that such large-scale projects benefit the surrounding communities in tangible ways.
“It shouldn’t be a situation where the arrival of a new project in the area is merely a point of recognition. The community must feel the impact, whether directly or indirectly,” the King remarked, underscoring the significance of local engagement in these developments.

The Hlane Hotel project is not just a hospitality endeavour but also part of a broader strategy to stimulate local and national economic growth.
Tourism is expected to receive a significant boost from completing the motel, which will cater to visitors attending various events and activities in the region, such as the Buganu Ceremony.

The King further highlighted that such initiatives are crucial for the country’s economic diversification and long-term prosperity.
“The work being done here is truly commendable,” His Majesty concluded, adding a heartfelt note of praise for the team behind the project. “Umsebenti muhle kakhulu uyancomeka,” which translates to “The work is very good and deserves praise.”
As the Hlane Motel nears completion, it stands as a testament to the ongoing development efforts in Eswatini and is poised to become a vital part of the nation’s tourism infrastructure,
providing both jobs and economic opportunities for the people of the surrounding area.
