Royal Leopard Holds Firm at the Summit After Sixth Straight Clean Sheet

By Chris Dlamini

Royal Leopard continued their impressive run in the MTN Premier League, securing a 2-0 win over Sidvwashini United to maintain their grip on the top spot.

Fresh from their historic Ingwenyama Cup triumph last weekend—where they edged Moneni Pirates 1-0—Leopard showed no signs of fatigue as they recorded their sixth consecutive clean sheet, reinforcing their reputation as the team to beat this season.

With the league title race heating up, Leopard’s victory sees them climb to 45 points, just two ahead of second-placed Green Mamba, who also bagged a crucial win away to Illovo.

The Big Bend clash ended 3-1 in favour of Green Mamba, keeping them well within striking distance of the log leaders.

Nsingizini Hotspurs, not to be left behind, kept their title hopes alive with a clinical 2-0 victory over Madlenya. The result lifts the Shiselweni-based side to 42 points, only three behind the leaders, setting up a thrilling final stretch in the season.

Royal Leopard’s ability to balance cup and league duties with poise and discipline is proving vital as the pressure mounts. The police side’s defence, in particular, has been rock-solid, giving them the edge in tight encounters.
