The iconic Impisi Rally, a major event in the Southern African motorcycle scene, is gearing up to celebrate its 10th anniversary spectacularly this year.

Scheduled to take place from May 2 to 4, 2024, at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre in Manzini, the rally promises to be a thrilling weekend filled with camaraderie, charity, and, of course, motorcycles.

As one of the region’s premier motorcycle events, the Impisi Rally has grown from a modest gathering into a vibrant celebration of motorcycle culture, attracting enthusiasts from across the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

This year’s rally is particularly significant, not only because of its milestone anniversary but also due to its strong focus on charity, as confirmed by the president of the Hyena Motorcycle Club, Mattie Potgieter.

“This 10th edition will be dedicated to charity, and we are determined to make a meaningful difference in our communities,” said Potgieter.

The entry fee for the event is set at E200, with additional costs for camping and amenities. Camping is free, while a cooler box can be brought for E50.

Secured parking is free, although venue area parking will cost E50. The rally will also feature a lineup of entertainment from local DJs and artists, ensuring a lively atmosphere for all attendees.

One of the key highlights of this year’s rally is the partnership with the Manzini City Council, a collaboration aimed at giving back to the less fortunate in the surrounding areas.

“We have partnered with the Manzini Municipality for our charity drive, which will include a blanket drive. We will also donate food parcels and clothes to different constituencies,” Potgieter explained.

The charity initiative will focus on three care points within the Manzini region: Zakhele Care Point, Manzini Club, and Manzini North.

Potgieter emphasized that all proceeds from the bikers, including donations from those participating in the event, will be directed to these causes.

The rally aims to bring together both the biker community and the wider public to support the less fortunate, ensuring that the event has a positive social impact beyond just the thrills and excitement of the weekend’s activities.
