The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has issued a public notice reminding emaSwati living, working,
studying, visiting, or travelling in South Africa to maintain regular contact with Eswatini’s diplomatic missions and to seek assistance whenever they encounter challenges that require consular support.
In a press release issued on June 16, 2026, the ministry reaffirmed the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its citizens abroad.
The statement comes amid ongoing efforts by government authorities to ensure that emaSwati living abroad remain informed about available support services and have direct access to official channels in emergencies or other difficulties.
The ministry emphasised that the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions in South Africa remain ready to assist citizens on a wide range of matters, including emergencies, documentation issues, welfare concerns and other consular services.
According to the statement, emaSwati are encouraged to keep the contact details of the nearest diplomatic mission readily available and to report any matter requiring the intervention or attention of government representatives.
The ministry noted that the High Commission of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Pretoria and the Consulate in Johannesburg continue to play a crucial role in assisting citizens who may require support while residing in or travelling through South Africa.
In addition to encouraging citizens to remain in touch with official government representatives,
the ministry also issued a caution regarding individuals or groups who may falsely present themselves as authorised representatives or spokespersons capable of resolving challenges faced by emaSwati in South Africa.
The warning comes as authorities seek to protect citizens from potential exploitation,
misinformation and fraudulent schemes that may target vulnerable individuals seeking assistance.
The ministry stressed that citizens should rely only on recognised government offices and officially designated personnel when seeking help.

“To ensure their safety and receive accurate assistance, emaSwati should verify that they are dealing with legitimate government representatives and make use of the official contact persons provided by the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions,” the ministry stated.
As part of the notice, the ministry released contact details for officials stationed at Eswatini’s diplomatic missions in South Africa.
At the High Commission of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Pretoria, citizens may contact Nombuso Dlamini or Sonnyboy Sangweni for assistance.
Meanwhile, those requiring support through the Consulate of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Johannesburg may contact Portia Dlamini or Sihle Mlangeni.
South Africa remains one of the primary destinations for emaSwati, with thousands of citizens travelling there each year for employment, education, business, medical treatment and tourism.
As a result, the government has continued to strengthen consular services aimed at supporting citizens and protecting their interests beyond the country’s borders.
The ministry reiterated that the welfare of Emaswati abroad remains a priority and encouraged citizens to make use of available diplomatic services whenever necessary.
“The ministry remains committed to supporting the welfare and interests of emaSwati wherever they may be,” the statement concluded.
