The Kingdom of Eswatini has received a significant donation of educational materials,
clothing, footwear and equipment from the Happy Home World Alliance International Organisation in Taipei, Taiwan, in a gesture aimed at uplifting vulnerable communities and strengthening the country’s education sector.
Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla virtually received the donation, which was officially presented during an online ceremony held in Taipei.
The contribution, valued at approximately US$210,000 (E344 521,80), has been dedicated to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi’s charitable initiatives and is expected to benefit thousands of emaSwati across the country.
Among the items donated were 1,004 pairs of brand-new shoes, 35 sewing machines for persons with disabilities,
500 sets of Studycat learning materials for children under the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, and 1,500 Studycat software licences for schools under the Ministry of Education and Training.
The Ministry of Education and Training also received laptops intended to enhance digital learning and equip young people with the technological skills required in an increasingly digital world. In addition,
the donation included 1,369 pieces of clothing for distribution to vulnerable beneficiaries.
Although the items were officially handed over during the virtual ceremony, they are expected to arrive in Eswatini in December 2026.
In her keynote remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Dladla described the donation as far more than a collection of material goods, saying it symbolised hope,
empowerment and dignity for the people of Eswatini. She expressed gratitude to the Happy Home World Alliance International Organisation for its continued generosity and commitment to supporting the country’s most vulnerable citizens.
“We recognise that meaningful development is not measured only in infrastructure and growth graphs and figures but in the true empowerment of our people, especially our children, who are the future of this country,” she said.
The Deputy Prime Minister assured the donors that every item would reach its intended beneficiaries and make a tangible difference in their lives.
She noted that the donation would provide practical support to children requiring school supplies,
persons with disabilities seeking opportunities for self-reliance, and schools working to improve the quality of teaching and learning through digital technology.
Dladla also praised the organisation for demonstrating genuine compassion towards the people of Eswatini.

The virtual handover ceremony brought together senior government officials and dignitaries from Taiwan and Eswatini, reflecting the significance of the partnership.
Those in attendance included Taiwan’s Minister of Education Cheng, Members of Parliament,
His Excellency Ambassador Mahmoud Jama Galaal of Somaliland, Happy Home World Alliance International Organisation President and former Deputy Minister of Education Tsong-Ming Lin,
Secretary General Brandon Chang, Director General Wu Li-Sen, Deputy Director-General Wu Wen-Ching, as well as officials from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Taiwan.
Speaking during the ceremony, Secretary General Brandon Chang said the donation formed part of the Love to & from Eswatini initiative,
which seeks to strengthen friendship, cooperation and people-to-people relations between Taiwan and Eswatini.
He said the programme reflects a shared commitment to improving lives through practical support, particularly in education and community development.
