The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade has confirmed that a new E50 million development in Mbabane is expected to create 550 jobs and strengthen Eswatini’s manufacturing sector.
Minister Manqoba Khumalo visited the Lituba Investments (Pty) Ltd site on Wednesday to inspect progress on the project.
The development comprises three components. A plastic manufacturing facility is projected to employ approximately 150 emaSwati. A retail factory is expected to create around 400 jobs.
The third component is a mixed-use residential and office development.
The project is scheduled for completion in October 2026. Installation of machinery will follow to prepare the facilities for operations.
During the visit, Minister Khumalo urged all Tinkhundla to collaborate with their communities to identify suitable land for industrial use.

He said Government is prepared to work with communities on the construction of factory shells to accommodate investors.
“I commend Lituba Investments and KDE Engineering for driving this project forward, with completion targeted for October 2026,” said Minister Khumalo.
The minister mentioned that the Ministry remains committed to fostering industrialisation, attracting investment and creating sustainable jobs that improve the livelihoods of emaSwati.
The Minister stated that the initiative is intended to attract investment, stimulate local economic development and create sustainable employment opportunities across the country.
Lituba Investments officials briefed the Minister that the plastic manufacturing plant will target both domestic and regional markets.
The retail factory space will be used for light manufacturing and warehousing.
he residential and office component is aimed at addressing demand for commercial and housing space in Mbabane.
The Ministry said the project aligns with Government’s commitment to foster industrialisation, promote investment and create jobs that improve the livelihoods of emaSwati.
