The Annual Number 43 legacy event, which has historically been held in Eswatini, will from this year onwards, be held in South Africa.
“Owing to circumstances beyond our control and growing uncertainty, we have decided to remodel the Event. From this year, the event will be hosted in South Africa until further notice. We will share more details shortly,” said Elias Masilela.
He said the Event will be preceded by the 5th Annual 43inSA Golf Day to be held on April 14, at the Pretoria Country Club. The golf event raises funds for the charity work of the Number 43 Foundation. More details are available at https://number43trelawneypark.org/ and interested golfers can also get in touch with Colene Arendse at colene@ebagency.africa.
The theme for this year is “Justice For All – Is it too late?”. At the same event, renowned author and communications specialist Songezo Zibi will address the business subject of “What is the economic future of the African youth?”.
“Both these subjects sit at the heart of African development and civilisation. As we have been taught, it is in our hands. Both these events offer an opportunity for partners and participants to network with people from within and beyond the borders of South Africa,” said Masilela.
On the 27th on March 2009, SA President Kgalema Motlanthe bestowed posthumously on Rebecca Makgomo Masilela (uMagogo) the Order of Luthuli in Silver.
The Order is awarded to South Africans who have made a meaningful contribution to the struggle for democracy, human rights, nation-building, justice and peace, and conflict resolution.
UMagogo has earned this recognition through “… her inspiring contribution as a nurturing mother to the exiled cadres who lived in Swaziland during the struggle.”
This she did over a period covering about 40 years, including the most trying times of the marauding South African death squads, who wreaked untold havoc in the Kingdom of Swaziland and the entire Southern African region.
