Premier League rookies, Nsingizini Hotspurs maintained their unbeaten run against Royal Leopard when they held the dethroned league champions to a goalless draw at Mavuso Sports Centre this afternoon.

Having beaten the police side 1-0 in the first round on November 16, 2022, when Mancoba Vilakati scored in the 40th minute at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium, Nsingizini Hotspurs started the match the more adventurous side, with probing moves and should have taken the lead as early as the 5th minute when Neliso Myeni fired over the bar after Leopard goalkeeper, Ncamiso ‘Mbhonyo’ Dlamini spilt the ball after an initial shot by Mayibongwe ‘Suarez’ Mabuza, who was playing his first game since returning from trials in Italy last week.

The lack of goal-line technology in the country’s football came to the fore in the 73rd minute when Royal Leopard striker Thokozane Dlamini’s shot ricocheted on the underside of the bar and the ball looked like it had crossed the goal-line but referee Mbongeni Shongwe waved play on.

Nsingizini Hotspurs held on to claim one point and maintained their unbeaten run against the police side.
