A 31-year-old Eswatini man was arrested by South Africa police at the Mahamba Border Post in Shiselweni, about 15 km from Nhlangano Town after dagga worth about E18 000 was found in a gas cylinder in his possession.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, told the South African media that the cylinder was in a plastic bag. According to South African media reports the suspect was spotted by police officials with a plastic bag containing the gas cylinder.

It was further reported that on suspicion, the cylinder was thoroughly checked, and police could notice that it was sealed. “They suspected it could be loaded with something other than gas,” Mdhluli said.
When police cut open the cylinder, they discovered dagga weighing 4.316kg, with an estimated street value of E18 000. Mdhluli said the Eswatini man was arrested and charged with possession of dagga and an immigration-related charge. The name of the man could not be revealed as he has not appeared before the court.
