HIS Majesty King Mswati III has urged the nation to fully participate in the Secondary Elections taking place on Friday.

The Head of State said this during a press briefing at Ludzidzini Royal Residence on Thursday after returning from the United Nations General Assembly in the United States of America.

“We call upon the nation to vote in their numbers during the secondary elections on Friday. We pray for a peaceful and fair exercise since elections are part of the nation-building programme,” the King said.

The Head of State further stated that the country had received a lot of messages from international organisations that wanted to observe the national exercise.

“We have been receiving congratulatory messages from several organisations, such as the African Union, who want to observe the elections. Some of the observers are already in the country to ensure that the elections are smooth and fair,” the King said.

His Majesty the King further challenged the incoming Parliament to work towards taking the country to the next level. “We want to have leaders who will take the country to the next level by emulating the outgoing Parliament,” His Majesty implored.

The statesman further hailed the smooth proceedings of the Primary elections. SADC Observers are already in the country to observe the national elections under the auspices of the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC).

Meanwhile, results for the Special Voting exercise on Tuesday are already out, where emaSwati locally and in the Diaspora voted in their numbers. They included election workers, the security forces, and inmates, among others.
