Testifying against the accused, Thabsile Simelane recounted the experience of returning home to find her house broken into and her belongings missing.
She said she was away when the incident happened and when she came back, she found her house broken into.
“My burglar was broken, and my key couldn’t open the door. When I looked around, I noticed an iron rod, which I suppose was used for the break-in,” she narrated.

“When I got in, I discovered that a 19 KG Grey Afrox Handigas Cylinder, a Black Bluetooth Bondsonic speaker, an EEC Overhead copper cable, and a knife set were missing in the house,” she revealed.
She told the court that she told the community police and only the Handigas and Bluetooth speaker were recovered. Makhubu has been remanded out of custody until April 16, 2024, awaiting further orders from the court.
