In an event held at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Mbabane, the Minister of Home Affairs, HRH Princess Lindiwe, unveiled the inaugural edition of the Ministry’s newsletter, titled ‘Tasekhaya.’
This newsletter aims to serve as an information center for the public, allowing them to gain insight into the Ministry’s activities, as well as understand the requirements and fee schedules for the services offered.
Addressing attendees at the event, Minister HRH Princess Lindiwe commended the diligent efforts of the communications unit for their hard work in producing the newsletter.

She expressed gratitude for their dedication and emphasized the importance of providing the public with transparent and accessible information.
The Minister mentioned that future editions of the newsletter would feature a designated section for frequently asked questions from the public.
With the successful launch and publication of the first edition, Minister HRH Princess Lindiwe emphasized the significance of maintaining a regular newsletter.
She stated that future editions would be published twice annually, ensuring that the public remains informed about the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives and updates.

She added that financial assistance will be required to ensure more copies of the newsletter are printed and available nationwide “Let’s spread the news far and wide”, she reiterated.
The Principal Secretary in the Ministry, Nhlanhla Nxumalo, echoed the minister’s sentiments and expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of this momentous occasion.
He emphasized his delight that this auspicious event took place during his tenure as the controlling officer in the Ministry, affirming his commitment to continue backing the publication of future editions.
Furthermore, Principal Secretary Nxumalo stressed the importance of ensuring that the Tasekhaya Newsletter reaches the maximum number of readers.
He declared that the publication must be readily available in all Tinkhundla centers across the county, as it represents an invaluable source of information for the public.
Nxumalo underscored the significance of easy access to the newsletter, promoting transparency and communication between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the citizens it serves.
To fulfil this objective, the Communication Officer in the Ministry of Home Affairs Mlandvo Dlamini assured the minister and the Principal Secretary that every effort will be made to circulate the Tasekhaya Newsletter widely.
While acknowledging the limitations in the number of physical copies available, the Communication Officer confirmed that at least one copy will be made accessible in all Tinkhundla centers, government websites, and the country’s border posts.
Additionally, the Ministry Service Centers will also stock copies for interested readers. Notably, employees within the Ministry will receive the newsletter directly via email, ensuring that they stay well-informed about the latest developments.

Moreover, the Communications Officer expressed gratitude to the Minister, the Principal Secretary (PS), the Under Secretary (US), and all Heads of Departments (HoDs) for their unwavering support.
Dlamini acknowledged that the achievement of this milestone would not have been possible without their invaluable contributions.
He assured that the Ministry would strive for continuous improvement in forthcoming editions and expressed his hope for ongoing support from everyone involved.
Moreover, Dlamini stated that the first edition of the newsletter provides a comprehensive overview of the Ministry’s activities spanning from January to November 2023.
This retrospective glimpse aims to inform the public about the Ministry’s accomplishments and endeavours during that period.
The Tasekhaya Newsletter is expected to play a crucial role in fostering a stronger bond between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the citizens of the country. Its launch marks a significant step towards enhancing communication, transparency, and public engagement.
