After the extravagant and glamourous anniversary of the Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE), Governor Dr. Phil Mnisi has conveyed profound gratitude to Their Majesties, King Mswati III and the Queen Mother, for their continued support and wisdom over the decades.
Mnisi shared such in a statement that the Bank released after their impeccable celebrations last Friday at their newly acquired complex at Ezulwini.
In the statement, the Governor expressed that the commemoration was a result of the enduring partnership between the monarchy and the Central Bank, which he said has propelled the institution to pursue its mandate with distinction and foresight.
The Central Bank of Eswatini is eternally grateful for their Majesties’ support and wise counsel spanning across multiple decades.

It is that counsel that enabled the Central Bank of Eswatini to persistently pursue its mandate with distinction and foresight,” the Governor stated in the statement.
During their celebrations, His Majesty King Mswati III, amidst dignitaries including Governors from the Southern African Development Community (SADC), warmly welcomed guests and lauded the dedication of past and present Board members, management, and staff in fulfilling the Bank’s mission.
Mnisi shared that the King in symbolizing his steadfast support, ceremonially broke ground at the future site of the Central Bank Complex in Ezulwini, which has been hailed as the monarchy’s devotion to the Bank’s growth and development.
Mnisi further shared that guests were presented with an artist’s rendering of the forthcoming headquarters, signifying a new era of progress and innovation.
“His Majesty the King performed a ceremonial sod-cutting at the Central Bank Complex, Ezulwini a symbolic expression of His unwavering support as the Bank is setting up a landmark headquarters in Ezulwini,” Dr Phil Mnisi said.
“His Majesty the King and his guests were also taken through an artist’s impression of how the future Central Bank headquarters looks like.”
The Governor added, “His Majesty the King proceeded to unveil the new Central Bank logo, a E50 non-circulating commemorative coin and a E50 circulating banknote.
For these memorable gestures, the Central Bank says, Bayethe! Wena Waphakathi!”
Acknowledging the pivotal role of governmental support, Governor Dr Phil Mnisi extended appreciation to Prime Minister Russell Dlamini and his Cabinet.
He recognized their instrumental contributions to the success of the anniversary celebration.
“The Central Bank also extends appreciation to His Excellency the Right Honourable Prime Minister Russell Dlamini and his Cabinet team for his palpable support for the Central Bank, and his insightful leadership displayed during the build-up to the event,” he further said.

Moreover, the Central Bank Governor also expressed gratitude to all stakeholders whose collective effort ensured the seamless execution of the event.
From the Ezulwini Municipality to service providers, whom he said each played a vital role in making the celebration an enormous success.
