Information Technology and Communications (ICT) Minister Savannah Maziya is today expected to form part of seven African panellists in the 10th Global ICT Leadership Forum held alongside the Korea-Africa Summit attended by His Majesty the King.
The minister is expected to present a paper on fostering cooperation between the Republic of Korea and African nations in the ever-evolving fields of ICT and how it can shape industries and societies including education and healthcare.

The theme of this year’s forum is “Strengthening Korea-Africa solidarity through digital innovation.”
South Korea is a leader in global tech industry and has much to offer in terms of expertise and infrastructure.

The ministers will investigate how African nations, beaming with young talent and diverse needs, represent a vast landscape for impactful IT development. Further, they will look at working together to unlock incredible potential for both continents.
The discussion aims to explore avenues for collaboration, identify challenges and opportunities and ultimately pave the way for a mutually beneficial partnership that advances technology for a sustainable and inclusive future.
The other six ministers will be from Uganda, Rwanda, Lesotho, Sierra Leone and Tanzania.
The objective of the forum is to discuss solidarity strategies for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through digital transformation technologies in Korea.

Through this forum, they also explore new ways of ICT cooperation among Korea and African countries in the public and private sectors to contribute to a truly global digital transformation by delivering the outcomes of the digital transformation policies and best practices in Korea.
On the other hand, Commerce Industry and Trade Minister Manqoba Khumalo will also be attending a Korea-Africa Business Forum.
