A 27-year-old man from Velezizweni stabbed a 22-year-old woman at Matsapha in a rented flat while their child was watching.

On August 24th, the man allegedly took the life of a 22-year-old woman in a horrific act of violence.

The young woman was reportedly stabbed once on the left side of her chest with a sharp object, leading to her tragic demise as she was being rushed to RFM Hospital for urgent medical care.

According to impeccable sources, the couple broke into a fight during the evening of Monday and then borne of contention is yet to be ascertained, however, what was gathered was that the stabbing took place in front of their child who is under 5 years of age.

It is said that an alarm was sound by the neighbours and the members of the community police reacted promptly which resulted into the suspect who hails from kaVelezizweni being apprehended and was then handed over to the Sigodvweni Police.

Efforts were made to transport the woman to the Raleigh Fiktim Memorial Hospital where she was confirmed death on arrival.

The alleged murder was confirmed by the Police Information and Communication Officer, Senior Superintendent, Phindile Vilakati who also disclosed that the accused has already been apprehended by the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS).

It should be noted that according to the REPS reports, there has been 4 murders in the Kingdom of Eswatini in the last four days and most of the victims are women.

Meanwhile, another man who is said to have also stabbed to death his girlfriend at Mahlabatsini over the past weekend, confessed before a Magistrate on Tuesday, according to impeccable sources.

The man has pleaded guilty to the offence of murder for his live-in-lover and this Publication is yet to establish the motive behind his grievous action.

Sources have disclosed to Eswatini Daily News (EDN) that the woman came out of the rented flat and dropped down dead in front of their neighbours.

The boyfriend is said to have escaped but was later apprehended by the REPS on the same day.
