That is just how the old and annual Trade Fair Cup tournament goes.

Playing the semi-finals on Saturday and then the final on Sunday is not on for Moneni Pirates’ Ghanaian coach, Christopher Ennin.

“I don’t understand how we played yesterday, and then the next day, we played the final. This is against FIFA laws,” he retorted.

However, that was not really his trouble as he understood the Trade Fair runs for just about a week. Ennin was also not pleased with the officiating on the day.

“It was a good game. We have learned a lot, and I can say we’re just almost there. We’ll go back and make one or two corrections. I’m just concerned about the officiating,” he retorted but could not expand.

Meanwhile, at least a fixture must be known 48 hours before the actual kick-off date. However, the nature of the Trade Fair has always been tight.

Ennin’s team Captain Menzi Simelane also observed that the officiating was at times a concern, but they had a good tournament, especially under a new coach.

“We are going to compete, and we also expect a very exciting season as all the teams are toughening up.

Look at Nsingizini, Swallows, Buffaloes and probably Leopard will come to the party but I’m not sure about them. We can all look forward to a good season,” said Simelane.

He then congratulated his teammates as well as their supporters. Moneni dominated in numbers on Sunday at the Mavuso Sports Centre.

They had done tremendously well to reach the final as they got past Royal Leopard, Ezulwini United, and Nsingizini Hotspurs, who are all tough opponents. The Sea Robbers of Moneni received E300 000 for their achievement.
