ROME, ITALY –The King’s keynote address at the 4th World Food Forum (WFF) is going to elevate the country’s global visibility, serve as a catalyst for attracting investments and forging strategic partnerships.
This is the view of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Pholile Shakantu who described the King’s speech as insightful, noting that his participation in such a global event would have a positive impact for the kingdom.

“His engagement not only elevates our visibility on the global stage but also serves as a powerful catalyst for attracting investments and forging strategic partnerships.
These collaborations are key in fostering economic growth, enhancing food security and improving the overall livelihoods of emaSwati.”

By embracing innovation and sustainable practices, we can increase productivity, ensure food sovereignty and create resilient agricultural systems that benefit our communities,” Minister Shakantu said.

She said the insights thoughtfully conveyed by His Majesty the King not only resonate deeply with the global challenges, such as climate change, population growth and resource scarcity—but also position Eswatini to emerge as a proactive player in tackling food-related issues both regionally and internationally.
“With the urgency expressed by His Majesty of addressing these concerns at “Nkwe” speed, the world was reminded of the importance of urgent action and collaborative efforts,” the minister said.
The King held a bilateral meeting with FAO Executive Director Dr Qu Dongyu at the FAO headquarters in Rome on Tuesday.
