Her Majesty, the Indlovukati (the Queen Mother) has made an early Christmas a reality for over 200 senior citizens in the Ngcamphalala region.

This generous act was made possible through the Philani Maswati Charity Organisation, where the Indlovukati serves as Patron and advocates for the care of the elderly.

Lutfo Dlamini, the Chairperson of Philani Maswati, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the Indlovukati’s unwavering support and commitment to the wellbeing of the vulnerable population.

“Through her compassionate leadership, we have been able to distribute food parcels and blankets to more than 200 bogogo nabomkhulu in our community,” Dlamini remarked.

“She embodies the spirit of giving and ensures that our elderly, who have dedicated their lives to nurturing our society, are never forgotten.”

Its going to be a warm Christmas, thanks to Her Majesty.

This initiative not only provides essential items for the elderly but also emphasizes the importance of caring for this vulnerable demographic.

“As a society, it is our duty to honour and take care of our senior citizens,” Dlamini continued. “They have contributed immensely to our families and communities, and in their twilight years, they deserve our love, respect, and support.”

In Eswatini, cultural values deeply respect the elderly. Nonetheless, many senior citizens face challenges such as isolation, poverty, and inadequate healthcare.

Philani Maswati’s initiatives aim to alleviate these hardships and foster a sense of community, reminding everyone of the significance of caring for our elders.

The Indlovukati’s early Christmas initiative serves as a timely reminder of the collective responsibility to uplift those who have walked the path before us.

Through generosity and compassion, the community can ensure that no elder is left behind.

“We urge everyone to not only contribute during the festive season but to make it a lifestyle choice.

By taking care of our elders, we nurture the very foundation of our society,” Dlamini concluded.

It should be noted that as the holiday season approaches, the legacy of kindness established by the Indlovukati prompts each individual to reflect on the importance of compassion and support for the elderly, encouraging all to give back to those who have given so much.
