Prime Minister Russell Dlamini has affirmed His Majesty King Mswati III’s declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Transformation.”
The Prime Minister vowed that His Majesty’s Government would align its actions with this vision, relentlessly driving the country’s transformation agenda forward.
“The Year of Transformation is not just a phrase; it is a call to action for every Swati citizen and every arm of our government,” the premier said.
“As His Majesty’s Government, we fully embrace this declaration, and we will incorporate key aspects of His Majesty’s Speech into our Programme of Action, ensuring that transformation becomes a reality for all emaSwati.”

The Prime Minister’s remarks came after a deeply significant event in the political calendar of the kingdom—the delivery of the Speech from the Throne by His Majesty King Mswati III.
The speech, which marked the official opening of Parliament’s second session, addressed both the country’s pressing issues and the aspirations of the people, as expressed during the annual Sibaya gathering.
Prime Minister Dlamini emphasized that the government had listened attentively to His Majesty’s words and was ready to act upon them.
“His Majesty’s Speech spoke directly to the challenges facing our nation while also acknowledging the hopes and dreams of our people,” Dlamini remarked.
“It is with these aspirations in mind that we take up the challenge to urgently address critical national priorities.”
One of the prominent issues discussed in the King’s address was the welfare of the elderly. His Majesty called for an increase in elderly grants, a proposal that Prime Minister Dlamini and the government fully support.
In response, Dlamini stated, “Sekhuta Li-Bayethe in response to His Majesty’s command to increase elderly grants.
This is a matter we take very seriously, and we will move swiftly to ensure that our elderly citizens are supported”.
In addition to the welfare of the elderly, the Prime Minister outlined several other key priorities in line with the Year of Transformation.

This included strengthening healthcare, improving the quality of education, creating job opportunities, empowering the youth, intensifying the fight against corruption, and addressing other social and economic challenges.
“The government is focused on creating a brighter future for all emaSwati,” Dlamini said. “We are fully committed to improving the lives of our citizens, particularly the most vulnerable, and ensuring that we move the country forward in a meaningful way.”
The Prime Minister also took a moment to express gratitude for the guidance and faith shown by His Majesty.
“We are humbled and inspired by His Majesty’s faith in God Almighty,” Dlamini stated. “Indeed, we are nothing without God, and we place our trust in Him for success in all we do.
It is through His strength and wisdom that we will achieve our goals and carry out His commands”.

The PM concluded his speech and invoked a powerful metaphor to rally the nation around the transformative work ahead.
“The lion has roared! It is now our turn to move forward with resolute determination—Nkwe—to fulfill this command,” he declared. “Bayethe! Wena Waphakathi”.
Prime Minister Dlamini’s statements reflect a government ready to tackle the nation’s challenges head-on, with a clear focus on transformation and progress.
Under the banner of the Year of Transformation, His Majesty’s Government is setting its sights on tangible improvements in the lives of all Swati citizens.
Through swift action on the key priorities highlighted in the King’s speech, the government aims to make meaningful strides toward a more prosperous, equitable, and unified Eswatini.
