The Minister of Education Lady Howard  Mabuza has announced the full reopening of all grades in schools with effect from Monday, 11 October 2021.

Government will continue disbursing Free Primary Education and OVC funds so that teaching and learning go smoothly. “This will assist the Ministry in implementing fully the compressed curriculum and finish the syllabus in time for exams in March 2022. It will also ensure that the school calendar to 2022 is completed in December and also allow government to bring back normalcy for the academic year starting January 2023”, said Minister Mabuza.

Mabuza continued to encourage the head teachers to ensure that Covid 19 protocols are observed even with the full class complement. The inspectorate will continue to monitor that with the support of the Ministry of Health surveillance team.

The Minister, “ May I reiterate government’s request to all communities to protect their school. I urge and plead with all teachers to bear with the Ministry during these difficult times. We are aware that you are at the center of effective learning in the schools and we bank on your support as a Ministry.”

Mabuza advised all learners to focus on their education because they need it. She also urged learners to attend classes and cooperates in schools as instructed by teachers.

It is indeed a brilliant decision taken by the government as full attendance of school will enhance learning practice that has been lacking behind for sometime now.
