A man from New Village in Manzini has been fined E500 after he stole a purse that had E160 cash in it.
On Wednesday, Wandile Sigwane (37) of New Village was arrested and charged with theft after he stole Nicole Sebuliba’s purse at the Mbabane bus rank.
He told the court that he had gone to check on his brother at Limkokwing and when he returned to town, he got tempted.
“I plead for the court’s leniency, I was tempted Your Worship. I have never done this before,” he said during mitigation.
He further told the court that he had three children who are solely dependent on him. Magistrate Xolile Nxumalo sentenced Sigwane to three months in prison with an option of a fine of E500.
