Blow for Nsingizini Hotspurs.
The back-to-back MTN Premier League champions will miss the crunch league opener against Moneni Pirates on Saturday at Somhlolo National Stadium.
Mkhonto will be serving a two-match suspension, which he accumulated last season during his stint with capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders.
He joined the Shiselweni based side during the off-season with the likes of Thulani Jingana and Emmanuel Sarpong, among others.
Other players who will miss the opening two fixtures of the campaign include Delisa Gama (Mbabane Highlanders), Mancoba Vilakati (Mbabane Swallows) and Mxolisi Manana (Green Mamba).
Highlanders will take on Green Mamba in the curtain-raising match slated for the country’s football mecca.
Swallows will also be without the services of Mozambique defender Celso Cauchane, who is suspended for the opening three matches.
The ‘Beautiful Birds’ will take on Rangers in their opening fixtures slated for the King Sobhuza II Stadium.
The suspensions were confirmed by a correspondence released by the Premier League of Eswatini Chief Executive Officer Pat Vilakati.
