Nedbank Eswatini has jumped in to a partnership with the PLE Charity Cup 2026 with a E75 000 sponsorship.
PLE is an acronym for Premier League of Eswatini. Through a statement, the Nedbank Eswatini partnership was confirmed by the PLE.
“The Charity Cup is an annual PLE tournament that brings together football clubs, supporters and communities around a shared purpose: using the power of football to support charitable causes and make a positive contribution to society.
“By combining sporting competition with community giving, the tournament creates a platform through which football can extend its impact beyond the pitch, mobilising public participation and directing attention and support towards charitable organisations. This purpose aligns with Nedbank’s ethos of “Doing Good” a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of people and the communities it serves,” reads an excerpt from the PLE statement.
The PLE further expressed its utmost gratitude to announce the partnership which it states reinforces the role of football as a platform for community engagement, social impact and meaningful partnerships.
“The sponsorship will contribute to enhancing the Charity Cup experience through matchday branding, fan engagement and opportunities for supporters to interact with the Nedbank brand.
“The partnership also reflects a shared recognition of football’s ability to bring people together and connect organisations with the communities they serve,” further read the statement.
Commenting on the partnership, Nomthandazo Mbatha, the new Head of Marketing at Nedbank Eswatini, said; “Through our partnership with the PLE Charity Cup, we want to create meaningful opportunities for fans to connect with the Nedbank brand. This is important to us as doing good for our community, our people and society at large is intrinsic to the essence of the brand”.
The Charity Cup is back as an important fixture on the Eswatini football calendar, bringing together teams, supporters and communities around the game while supporting the tournament’s wider charitable purpose.
“PLE welcomes Nedbank Eswatini’s participation and looks forward to working together to deliver an engaging tournament experience that connects the brand with football fans both at the stadium and across digital platforms.”
The 2026 Charity Cup play-offs will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, followed by the final on Sunday, 8 November 2026.
“Through this partnership, PLE continues to champion the commercial and social value of football, creating opportunities for brands to engage with supporters while contributing to the growth and development of the game in Eswatini,” concluded the statement.
PLE Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Petros ‘Pat’ Vilakati reaffirmed this when reached.
“Nedbank Eswatini has partnered with us for perimeter boards and other administrative support,” he said.
Vilakati would not immediately commit to the figures involved but confirmed there was money involved as they charge a certain fee for perimeter boards around the pitch.
Nonetheless, PLE Brand and Sponsorship Manager Ncobile Simelane later revealed it was a partnership valued at E75 000.
