Remarking on JC, EPC exams begin

By Ntombi Mhlongo

Candidates who sat for the EPC and JC 2022 Examinations and are not satisfied with the results can now make requests to have their scripts remarked.

The Examinations Council of Eswatini (ECESWA) has said that the rechecking and remarking exercise for both the Eswatini Primary Certificate (EPC) and Junior Certificate (JC) has commenced and will end on January 20, 2023.

“Candidates who wish to remark should first obtain a letter from the school supporting their requests and then apply at the ECESWA Offices,” the Council said.

In terms of fees, candidates whose requests for remarking have been approved will be expected to pay E160 per subject under the EPC while for JC it will cost E185 per subject.

When presenting the results last week, Minister of Education and Training Lady Mabuza announce that under the JC Examination, the number of candidates who did not make it in 2022 stood at 3 136 while in 2021 the figure was 3 715.

This indicates a decrease of 0.18 per cent in 2022 when compared with those who did not make it in 2021.

For the EPC Examination, the number of candidates who did not make it in 2022 stood at 2 239 while in 2021 there were about 2 007.
