The year 2023 will be a busy year for the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) as there will be no less than nine tournaments.
According to a statement released by COSAFA Media Manager, Lynda Greeff, the tournaments will be across multiple-age groups, from school level right up to the flagship COSAFA Cup and COSAFA Women’s Championships.
“It will be another bumper year for Southern African football as the intention is to host no less than nine tournaments, though that is dependent on some critical factors,” part of the statement reads.
Greeff also revealed that COSAFA will hold its Annual General Meeting in March where plans will be discussed. Eswatini is expected to participate in all the tournaments including the Schools tournament which the country missed a year ago due to the closure of schools as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Eswatini hosted the Under-20 tournament in October for the first time in 29 years. Zambia’s Young Chipolopolo were the champions of the 2022 COSAFA Under-20 Youth Championships.
