The bail application for Thabo’s Bester’s accomplice Dr Nandipha Magudumana has been postponed to May 11 and 12, 2023.
According to Newsroom Afrika, the state proposed that the matter be postponed to the aforementioned dates for bail due to new developments and having a new accused in the case.
It was reported that the defence lawyers needed to have more than two days for the bail applications. Magudumana appeared at the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court together with her three co-accused to seek bail.

They face various charges, including aiding the convicted Bester’s prison break. Ever since the news of Bester’s prison break broke, the South African Police Service (SAPS) have been putting effort to get to the bottom of the matter and get those who are linked to the escape.
On Monday, the SAPS announced that they had arrested two more persons concerning the case. These, according to a press statement, were former employees of G4S, the company that was contracted to provide security at the Mangaung Correctional Services where Bester escaped.

The pair appeared on Wednesday on a charge of assisting an inmate to escape from lawful custody and defeating the ends of justice. The SAPS team investigating the case have so far arrested eight suspects and have not ruled out the possibility of effecting more arrests.
Some of the already arrested persons include a 44-year-old man who appeared before the Bloemfontein Magistrate Court two weeks ago. The suspect was said to be an employee contracted to a company that installs and maintains cameras at the Mangaung Correctional Centre.
He faces a charge of aiding and abetting a convicted prisoner to escape from lawful custody, defeating the ends of justice as well as violating a dead body.
