Gloomy primary elections for aspiring Lobamba MP

By Sibusiso Masilela

Aspiring Lobamba Member of Parliament Majahodwa Khumalo would not like to remember this year’s primary elections, as it was a gloomy one for him on a personal note.

This follows the damage caused to his house, situated at Nkhanini after the heavy winds that affected the whole country on Friday evening. The effects of Mother Nature rippled off a portion of his house’s roofing, leaving the family counting the stars in the skies.

Khumalo is not new to politics, as he previously served for one term as Lobamba MP between 2008 and 2013.

“The heavy winds affected my homestead, damaging the roofing altogether. I would like to send my sympathy to other affected families within the constituency as this situation was not planned by anyone,” he said.

Khumalo further stated that the voting process proceeded smoothly in the constituency.

“I am happy with the proceedings of the primary elections and I am patiently waiting for the results.”

Meanwhile, another aspiring female MP Thulile Dlamini said the elections went well. Khumalo is contesting together with Thulile Dlamini, Emmanuel Nhlengetfwa, Sebenele Gamedze and Mandlenkosi Mabuza in the race for the hot seat in the constituency situated in the country’s legislative and traditional capital.
