Vernomous Green Mamba poisoned giant slayers Madlenya with a 2-0 win to book a place in the Trade Fair Cup finals on Sunday. The Correctional Services side outfoxed the stubborn through goals on each half from Mthunzi Mkhontfo and Mxolisi Manana at Mavuso Sports Centre on Saturday.

The result ended Madlenya good run in the tournament which saw them knock Nsingizini Hotspurs and Moneni Pirates in the revived knockout tournament.
They will now compete for the 3rd/4th place E50 000 prize money on Sunday afternoon.
The match was off to a cagey start in the opening 20 minutes as both teams resorted to a defensive approach.

‘Inyoka Eluhlazana’broke the deadlock in the 22nd through the seasoned ‘ Xavi ‘ Mkhontfo, who toe-poked a Mbutfo Dlamini low cross in front of over 500 fans. The goal caused some resistance from Madlenya who pushed for an equaliser with fullback Sthabiso Msibi forcing a desperate save from the opposition goalkeeper Xolani Gama with a dipping 25-yard free kick.
