Big doors have opened up for former Mbabane Swallows striker, Glody Lilepo. The Congolese talisman has joined French Ligue B side Valencienne from Sudanese side Al Hilal on a three-year contract.
He recently competed in the 2022 CAF Champions League with Al Hilal. Lilepo last played for the red and white glamour during the 2017/18 season under the leadership of Princess Lungile, widow to late former boss Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze.
He is among the list of Congolese players to have donned the famous red and white jersey together with the likes of Papy Kabamba, Mydo Kingu, Kingu Pemba and the recently signed Leon Bombo, among others.
The player’s agent Alimas Bin Saleh confirmed the news.
“We would like to congratulate the player over his move to France and we wish him the best of luck at his new club,†he said.

Valenciennes or USVA is a French association football club based in Valenciennes.
The club was founded in 1913 and currently play in Ligue 2, the second tier of French football. Valenciennes plays its home matches at the recently built Stade du Hainaut located within the city.
The club spent over 80 years playing under the name before switching to its current name.
Valenciennes has spent an equal amount of time playing in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 having played 40 seasons in the first division and 36 seasons in the second division.
The French Ligue 2 is the second division league behind the Ligue 1 which is the premier League for the European nation.
