Nsingizini Hotspurs have snatched Moneni Pirates playmaker Yekisizwe Khumalo.

The national Under-20 player joined the Hluthi-based side following the opening of the second transfer window on Monday.

Khumalo forms part of ‘Insingizi ye Zulu’ new signings which include Ghanaian international Alvin Shabashie from Denver Sundowns. Nsingizini Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Banele Ngobe confirmed the acquisition of the youth international player.

“The player is now part of the team, and we will be unveiling our new signings on Tuesday afternoon,” he said.

Pirates Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sibusiso Nkambule said they had not cleared the player to any team and further stated that he was contracted to them.

“We have heard that the player is with Nsingizini Hotspurs, and he hasn’t been attending our activities since we returned from the festive break. He is still contracted to us until 31 May 2025. We feel undermined by some of the team habits of poaching our players behind our back and we do not stand in a player’s way if he follows the right channels when he wants to leave us,” he said.

Khumalo has re-united with his National Under-20 striker Mayibongwe ‘Suarez’ Mabuza whom he attended trials with in Italy last season.
The two players were part of the national Under-20 squad that featured in the 2023 COSAFA Under-20 championships which were held in the country.

He was recently cleared from heart-related illness by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) medical committee after he was banned from football activities at the beginning of the season.

The player’s previous condition ended his dream of playing in Italy.
