Manzini Wanderers head coach Ikabort Masocha has walked out of the relegation-threatened hub giants’ camp.
The Zimbabwean mentor verbally resigned from the team after the 3-0 defeat to Mbabane Swallows on Sunday at Mavuso Sports Centre.
He was recently elevated into the head coach position after joining the hub giants as a co-coach to Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe from Moneni Pirates.
Masocha confirmed the news when contacted by the Eswatini Daily News.
“I have decided to leave the team after a faction of the supporters attacked me after the match against Swallows. I will officially inform the management committee (MC) about my decision during my meeting with them. I feel the decision is in the best interest of my safety,” he said.
Meanwhile, Wanderers Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Diana Johnson said they were still going to meet Masocha.

“We will engage the coach during our next meeting where will also get reports for the previous match. I will be in a better position to comment after the meeting,” she said.
The hub giants are currently facing relegation as they are currently perched at position 12 with 14 points in the log table.
The crowd pullers were further knocked out in the last 16 of the SMVAF Ingwenyama Cup by Madlenya FC.
