Three men hailing from Qobonga appeared before the Mbabane Magistrate’s Court on charges of robbery amounting to a staggering E27 465.

Lwazi Silolo (24), Lwazi Zulu (24), and Sanele Sibandze (22) have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of robbery, which all transpired in the Qobonga area on November 22, 2023.

The court proceedings revealed that the trio stands accused of committing a series of robberies that have left victims traumatized. The charges brought against them detail a pattern of criminal behaviour that has resulted in significant losses for the victims involved.

One incident on November 22, 2023, saw the accused individuals, either individually or in collaboration, using force and violence to unlawfully take items valued at E10 700 from Zamokuhle Nxumalo.

The victim was subjected to assault and robbery, with items including an HP laptop, Samsung A2 Core Cellphone, Lecoq sneakers, Hemisphere jeans, and a jacket being forcibly taken from him.

Further charges outlined in the court documents indicate that the trio also targeted Majahonke Mthethwa, robbing him of items totalling E9 705, which included an HP Laptop, All-Star sneakers, Uzzi sweater, Hemisphere jeans, Redbet jeans, Swag jeans, jacket, DH T-shirt, and an Adidas bag.

The trio were also charged with robbing Zwakele Dlamini in the same manner and forcefully taking a Samsung A12 cellphone, Samson shirt, Adidas Sneakers, and hat, which all amount to E3 650. On the last count, they were charged for robbing Thulisile Ranwalia, items amounting to E3 410 in the same manner.



As the court proceedings unfold, Silolo and Sibandze have been remanded into custody until April 23, 2024, pending their trial, while Zulu was remanded out of custody.
